Santa Letters
With a little simple planning your children can be occupied for hours writing Santa letters to Santa Claus at the North pole. I am sure your children are as excited as mine for Christmas. My children have been writing Santa letters for many years now. Santa letters have become a Christmas family tradition. When my children were young and could not read or write we had them draw Santa letters. When the children were a little older we would help our kids with what to write to Santa in their Santa letters. That was a lot of fun.
A few years after the children had been writing Santa letters they asked why My wife and I had not been writing Santa letters as well. So now we write Santa letters along side our children. To write their Santa letters I give my kids some blank paper and a few craft supplies to decorate their Santa letters. I think decorating the Santa letters is one of their favorite parts about writing Santa letters. After everyone has finished their Santa letters we put the Santa letters in envelopes address them to Santa Claus at the North pole and take them out to our mailbox. The kids like to make it a little parade with everyone holding their Santa letters.
After the Santa letters are in the mailbox we have cookies and milk then the children pick a Christmas bedtime story. It is usually something about Santa Clause receiving Santa letters and his activities with the elves and reindeer at the workshop. After the children are in bed asleep we sneak out to the mailbox to retrieve the Santa letters. A few days later as husband and wife we open the Santa letters and make our Christmas shopping lists. My husband and I still have some of the old Santa letters our kids wrote. They are a fun keepsake from our children's youth. We also exchange our Santa letters. It is a fun way to let my wife know how much I love and care about her and this way she also knows what things I would like for Christmas.
Santa letters are a big part of my family's Christmas traditions.
