Assertive Communication - Your Assertive Bill Of Rights

Being aware of your assertive rights is a crucial component of any useful assertiveness training course. When you are alert to your rights, you'll have the ability to create healthy boundaries both in your individual and office connections. As opposed to enabling your decisions and conduct to be influenced by the people around you, you'll be able to take control in any event and claim back your personal power as a result.

Today, I'll be speaking about some of these assertive rights:

1. You possess the perogative to make inquiries to assist you to make a well informed choice

If you're without the basic knowledge to make a proper determination or if you're just uncertain, it's perfectly acceptable for you to make inquiries and pull together the details you need to have before getting on with the task at hand. You shouldn't be made to feel silly or ignorant for acknowledging that you don't possess sufficient knowledge and asking questions about it.

2. It is your right to get some things wrong and be responsible for them

I'm certain you've heard the old saying, "nobody's perfect". Everyone is all certain to make mistakes at one point or another in the past, present or future, and that's understandable as long as you own up to them. No one has got the right to use these faults as a tool to cause you to feel bad about yourself.

3. You have the right to your own personal free time

It's perfectly natural if you want to have your own personal free time, and nobody has the power to make you feel bad about spending it as you would like. Being free doesn't mean that you are required to take on extra work or do something worthwhile with that time in the event you don't prefer to. Nobody has the power to control the way you enjoy that time, or even to cause you to feel bad for "squandering" it.

4. You have got the right to be treated in a well mannered way

You have got right to be treated with respect by the folks you meet and not spoken to condescendingly in any way, despite how old you are, your job earnings and level of education.

5. You have got the right to celebrate your successes

You have got every right to feel proud about your triumphs, while not feeling like you need to conceal them or minimize them in any way. You should never feel low about being great at something and enjoying your successes.

A lot of the time, we can easily think that other people are keeping us from really expressing ourselves or doing what we like to do. The reality is, in most cases the problems that we encounter are caused by our own ignorance of these assertive rights.
